Curriculum Vitae
Education
SUNY College at Geneseo Sep 2011 - May 2015
Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry
- Minors in mathematics and biomathematics.
Professional Experience
Torch
Director of Data and Analytics
Apr 2021 - Present
-
Transitioned the Data and Analytics team into a stand-alone department
within Torch's Technology Division, and built out a full roster of data
analysts, analytics engineers, and data engineers. Along the way I
fostered a team culture that emphasized personal and professional growth,
accountability, and transparency.
-
Worked with departments across the organization to create tools that
positively impacted user experience in-app, sales and marketing motions,
and financial analyses.
-
Developed and evangelized our data warehouse and products, built using
modern data tools such as dbt, Sisense for Cloud Data teams, Singer taps,
and Redshift.
Lead, Data and Analytics
Jun 2019 - Apr 2021
-
Founded Torch’s Data and Analytics team to enable data-informed decision
making through self-serve data access and advanced analytics across all of
Torch. This nimble team includes analysts and engineers, and together we
provide data products that support our customer experience, sales,
marketing, finance, and product teams.
-
Created a data warehouse to store all organizational data, leveraging dbt,
git, and CI/CD to make it easy for analysts and engineers to contribute to
data modeling and testing tasks while maintaining data and documentation
quality.
-
Trained members from various teams on how to use Sisense for Cloud Data
teams for self-service reporting, and provided data team office hours to
support external analysts in how to best use our data warehouse.
Senior Engineer
Apr 2018 - Jun 2019
-
As Torch’s founding engineer, I served as a leader of four full-stack
engineers in the creation and maturation of a scalable leadership coaching
platform from Seed funding through a $10M Series A funding round.
-
Took part in multiple greenfield development opportunities including PoC
analytical systems and third-party API integrations.
-
Implemented and maintained multiple production AWS systems, including RDS
databases, S3 buckets, queues, and Elasticache clusters leveraging
Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD.
Delaware North CompaniesJan 2016 - Apr 2018
Data Engineer
-
Responsible for the development and maintenance of Delaware North’s
enterprise-wide data platform and data products. This included working
with a diverse set of stakeholders including MLB and the NHL.
-
Created a fully automated data validation system that identifies and
corrects errors at over 50,000 records per minute.
-
Spearheaded the design and creation of a fully automated framework to
deploy Redshift data warehouses that stored analytically relevant subsets
of Delaware North’s data platform.
-
Performed research exploring applications of computer vision, voice
recognition, conversational AI, and IoT devices in the hospitality
industry and developer ergonomics.
OmniSeq, LLC Jun 2015 - Jan 2016
Software Developer
-
Designed and implemented RESTful APIs and web applications for laboratory
information systems, clinical report management, and medical informatics.
These systems operated in a highly regulated environment and passed FDA
and CLIA approvals for HIPPA and 21 CFR part 11.
-
Developed new functionality for an internal Clinical Laboratory
Information Management Systems (C-LIMS). This included sample management,
navigating molecular diagnostics protocols, and research and development
tools.
-
Cultivated effective engineering and accountable quality assurance testing
in a highly regulated industry.

epidemiological research projects. This includes advising in experimental
design, data collection and analysis, and training in the use of R and
SAS.
-
Moderating a weekly journal club in which students present their research
progress for community collaboration.
